The Therapist is a key member of the Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System social services team. The Clinician/Therapist/Counselor is responsible for performing a variety of direct clinical duties in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. These include, but are not limited to, group, individual and family treatment modalities. Excellent judgment and clinical skills are essential for this position.

Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System is a 140-bed hospital offering inpatient services for female adolescents, adults, older adults, military/veterans and their families. has a spacious cafeteria, gymnasium, art/activity room, group rooms, classrooms and other areas to create a pleasant atmosphere for patients and their families. Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System's quality services are provided by psychiatrists,, licensed therapists, certified alcohol and drug counselors, activity therapists and teachers. Also, care is given by registered nurses 24 hours a day. Since 1986, Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System has been a proven in mental health and substance abuse.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing thorough and accurate psychosocial evaluations, developing and implementing master treatment plans, and providing for appropriate discharge planning/aftercare referrals.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with both clients and staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize the multiple demands of the position and are able to accurately follow instructions
  • Understands the documentation requirements and complete these requirements in a timely fashion

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in human relations or clinical field such as social work, psychology, or marriage and family counseling.
  • A license or certification in a specialized field is required and if an independent practice license/certification is not present, this individual must be clinically supervised and must actively work towards their own independent licensure/certification.
  • At least two years working in a human service organization with inpatient or outpatient psychiatric or chemical dependency populations is strongly preferred, although not required.
