Job Description:
Registered Apprenticeship Program Overview: Registered Apprenticeship is an "earn while you learn" workforce model that enables participants to enter an approved program and begin earning wages immediately while they receive on-the-job and classroom training simultaneously. The Behavioral Health Technician Registered Apprenticeship Program (BHTRA) has been approved by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet, Office of Employer Services and Apprenticeship, sponsored by Seven Counties Services and received federal grant funds through Equus Workforce Services to support outreach and training activities. Participants who complete the approve classroom training or "related technical instruction" outlined below and 2000 hours of on-the-job learning will receive a BHT Certificate from the Education and Labor Cabinet.

Position Summary: A Behavioral Health Technician cares for individuals with behavioral health conditions or disabilities following the instructions of physicians or other health practitioners. Monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff. May participate in rehabilitation and treatment programs, assist with personal hygiene, build rapport and therapeutic relationships, provide de-escalation and reinforcement to engage in various treatment modalities. Encourage patients to develop life skills and to participate in social, recreational, or other therapeutic activities that enhance interpersonal skills, develop social relationships, and promote recovery.
