ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. In collaboration with the Surgical Services Director; assumes leadership responsibilities for area of responsibility in order to accomplish goals of the facility as well as specific department.2. Performs primary functions of a professional nurse leader in planning, directing, organizing, and evaluating patient care activities within the nursing department related to Orthopedic Cases.3. Responsible for communication with surgeons on order sets, preference cards, equipment, supplies and instrumentation needed for new service line.4. Assures that employees are oriented, trained, and receive continuing education, byParticipating in development, implementation of performance improvement projects for the department. Responsible for the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care provided.5. Assists with assessing, planning, directing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the effectiveness of day to day operation in accordance with facility policies, philosophy objectives and standards.6. Works well in a team atmosphere and incorporates a professional attitude in his/her performance.7. Will oversee the inventory of supplies and will work closely with OR Materials coordinator with Consignments and new supply/implant items. Will work with OR Materials coordinator on PAR levels and availability of supplies and any necessary specialty items that may be needed for cases.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum EducationAssociate's Degree Nursing (ADN): Required
Bachelor's Degree Nursing (BSN): Preferred
Required SkillsLicenses: Registered Nurse, KY or Compact State RN License
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
