Job Description:
The Medical Physicist is a member of the Radiation Oncology Team who has a thorough knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology in the management of cancer or other disease processes, with an expertise in treatment machine management and developing optimal treatment plans.
The medical physicist is responsible for utilizing computer applications relevant to the treatment and quality assurance mechanisms regarding dose distribution, evaluation and research of treatment results.
Other responsibilities include daily calibration-dosage measurements, maintenance, equipment calibration, new equipment installation, quality assurance meeting/process improvement leadership, research, and quality assurance oversight for the department.
This individual will exhibit technical expertise, possess good communication, and demonstrate a high level of independent problem solving skills.
Requirements:
Master's or Doctoral Program Graduate in Medical Radiation Physics.
Certification - Board Certified, or eligible, in either Therapeutic Radiologic Physics, or Radiological Physics by the American Board of Radiology.
