JOB SUMMARY

The part-time Sales & Marketing Specialist is responsible for executing tactics that increase awareness of and grow business for Louisville Water Tower and the WaterWorks Museum. The Specialist is responsible for identifying and engaging with target audiences for rentals and works to grow volume and revenue. Additionally, this position helps to grow educational tours. This position will help to elevate Louisville Water Tower as a unique and valued resource for community events and immersive educational activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Develop relationships and create networking opportunities with organizations, businesses, and key stakeholders.

Represent Louisville Water Tower at wedding shows, meeting planner events, and with partners (i.e., Louisville Tourism).

Provide input on sales and marketing (can include advertising, booths, events, etc.) for Louisville Water Tower.

Create and maintain a contact database for ongoing communications; work with communication and marketing team on sales initiatives that may include email blasts, personal letters, phone/virtual sales calls, unique events, etc.

Assist with site visits to help sell the venue, answer rental inquiries, and provide event support. This will include nights and weekends as needed.

Assist in business operations, including but not limited to entering data, drafting correspondence, managing rental applications.

Function as a marketing ambassador for Louisville Water Tower; this may be on- or off-site.

Identify cross-promotion opportunities that increase educational visits to WaterWorks Museum.

Identify opportunities for unique events, earned media and in-kind sponsorships that elevate Louisville Water Tower and share those with the marketing team.

Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works no more than 20 hours per week/100 hours per month. Work hours and schedule will fluctuate based on season and demand.

Availability to work peak days and hours, combination of weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work weekends.

The workplace is at an historic site, with indoor and outdoor settings.

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, which includes steps, uneven pavement, inclines, both grass and paved surfaces.

Must be able to lift, carry, or move a maximum equivalent of 20 lbs.

Physical flexibility and range of motion to complete a deep-knee bend, full-waist bend, and overhead reach.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent

Three (3) years of sales or a combination of the following: customer service, cultural attractions, event planning, hospitality.

Valid driver's license.
