Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Aids manager in all areas of credit control for proper compliance and enforcement of credit policy.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Handles the taking of credit applications, explaining credit policy to patrons; and follows through on complete investigation of application and recommends appropriate action to manager. Processes applications completed daily and informs patron within 24 hours of approval or denial.

2. Handles collections efforts daily, including correspondence, telephone calls, visits and all follow-ups. Records actions taken.

3. Implements the credit policy including an effective collection program, making recommendations to manager on needed action for specific amounts and following through on agreed upon action. Prepares for mailing monthly the Notification and Pre-Legal letters and keep records on this mailing.

4. Prepares monthly Cut-Off list of patrons who may not have changes made to their account because they are past due. Distributes list to all employees for perusal, and updates list daily.

5. Prepares and administers required legal papers with manager's approval. Warrant In Debt and Garnishment papers completed on managers' approval. Records bankruptcy notations in system.

6. Promotes and coordinates local credit programs when need arises. Coordinates in yearly Budget Plan promotion.

7. Files financial statement or documents at appropriate legal offices when required.

8. Assists in informing and training other employees in proper credit control procedures.

9. Adheres to SS No Tolerance Policy on Safety and Environment.

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduate with some college preferred. Completion of Management Training Program required. Keyboarding skills required. Proficiency with calculator. Valid drivers license.

Requires physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist and lift/carry 50 pounds. Vision, hearing and speech essential. Hand coordination to use computer. May require a valid drivers license. While traveling may have contact with hazardous materials and drive/travel and work in adverse weather conditions.
