Summary

The Managing Director, Financial Analysis & Business Partnering leads the centralized financial planning & analysis function for the organization. You will provide financial and analytical direction to the organization's strategic planning process, leads the budget/reforecast process, and supports leadership on critical resource allocation decisions. You will manage financial reporting and analysis across the Agency in partnership with the Save the Children US divisions and Save the Children International/Association. Reporting to the Deputy CFO, you will collaborate with business units and the global movement to drive financial analytical rigor and foster excellence in financial management reporting across the organization, providing robust analytical insights for senior leadership team strategic decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reforecasting (30%)

  • Manage the budget and forecasting process, in close coordination with divisions and the Deputy CFO. Work includes annual budget process, projections, forecasts, and budget revisions.
  • Support divisional revenue and expense planning. Oversee grant budget and financial modeling for international and domestic awards to provide robust forecast of available financial resources.
  • Provide monthly forecasting and financial information to business partners across the agency, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Support Deputy CFO in preparation of Board budget materials.

Business Partnering (25%)

  • Work collaboratively with division leadership throughout the organization to drive understanding and analytical rigor of financial performance that supports strategic decision-making.
  • Provide management with detailed financial analyses that support strategic objectives and projects.

Financial Analysis (20%)

  • Design and provide timely and accurate management reporting that drives performance.
  • Continuously improve financial reporting in coordination with business teams and the Deputy CFO to provide the Senior Leadership Team with timely information that supports strategic decision-making.
  • Provide financial analyses by analyzing financial results and indicators and recommend actions that improve financial results.
  • Identify data and analytical needs to support management and performance monitoring requirements.
  • Work closely to drive divisions to develop enhanced financial modelling and analysis.

Project Management (10%)

  • Support a portfolio of critical global strategic transformation and digital & data projects global projects.

Management, Supervision, and Capacity Building (15%)

  • Recruit, manage and develop the Financial Analysis and Business Partnering team so that the team members receive robust finance leadership that they then may deliver across the organization.
  • Train, develop, coach, lead, and supervise staff, clearly communicating organization, division, and department priorities, and clarifying contributions to the organizational mission, ensuring a working environment that fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Learn and share business insights, drawing on experience and learning across the agency.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and align financial analysis and reporting to drive results
  • Professional experience as a manager and organizational leader
  • Proven ability to excel in a team-based culture
  • Demonstrated level of financial modeling capability; significant modeling experience, both doing and overseeing
  • Proven understanding of the core business drivers and ability to work effectively across the agency and with business team stakeholders
  • Demonstrated financial planning and budgeting experience
  • Demonstrated experience in using mainstream financial software and systems
  • Proven ability to galvanize behind initiatives, including the annual budgeting process
  • Proven senior functioning capacity: highly organized; ability to operate well in both high level and detailed realms; ability to plan ahead
  • Ability to facilitate change in an organization and drive results through influence
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging

Preferred Qualifications

  • International experience
  • A mix of for-profit and not-for-profit experience
  • Experience with Unit 4 Agresso Financial system
  • Certificated Corporate FP&A Professional (FPAC) Preferred

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $131,750 - $147,250 base salary
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $119,850 - $133,950 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $107,950 - $120,650 base salary

The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available ). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.
