About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst FP&A is responsible for assisting with all financial planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis at HARMAN. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, FP&A Operations, you will have the responsibility to be one of the main points of contact and support for all communication and reporting to Samsung HQ. This involves working closely with the Samsung PMA (Post Merger Alignment) team to ensure all reporting and analysis is coordinated and well-understood and delivered with high-quality in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for data analysis working closely with divisional FP&A teams, identifying underlying issues and preparing reports for senior management. You will support the Corporate FP&A team with the budgeting process and help meet all financial reporting requirements of Harman entities across the globe. In addition, this role will manage ad-hoc tasks and special projects.


Your Team

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. You'll be part of a 6-person team with Corporate FP&A and you'll interact closely with Samsung PMA team, division FP&A teams, Strategic Finance, and business stakeholders.


What You Will Do

  • Build process and governance around Samsung HQ requests and coordinate with all HARMAN and Samsung finance areas including FP&A, Treasury, Consolidations, Accounting; working closely with Samsung PMA and AEB (Automotive Electronics Business) teams.
  • Support preparation of monthly / quarterly / annual reporting and analysis for Samsung HQ including: core data file, regional reporting, program and product profitability, FX analysis, and variance analytics.
  • Provide Financial Close support in the areas of Revenue, Cost of Sales, SG&A and Inventory while ensuring timely reporting in consolidation system.
  • Assist the preparation of quarterly Board of Directors' meeting materials.
  • Assist the overall financial statement review and variance analysis.
  • Support the reporting materials for HARMAN Senior Leadership Committee.
  • Support the consolidation of the P&L Forecast process and annual Budget process to deliver the consolidated HARMAN budget.
  • Support Divisional FP&A leads in planning process.
  • Provide standard and ad-hoc reporting and analysis on all aspects of the business. Utilizes BPC when required.
  • Own standard templates within BPC to enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Initiate and support business improvement projects and other special projects as assigned.

What You Need

  • Degree in Finance & Accounting or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an international controlling / accounting / FP&A function.
  • Demonstrated experience in showing leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in working with a team across many functions and divisions.
  • Ability to work effectively in commercial environment and with functional departments.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and cross divisionally to drive results.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of/experience in ERP systems, preferably SAP, BPC and COPA.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Travel 5% domestically
  • Be willing to work in a office remotely and able to come into office when needed (Preferred locations: Novi MI, Stamford CT). Must be in the location of one of these offices.
